Serving Dallastown, Eastern York, and Red Lion School Districts

Food Pantry*
 See our Pantry Services page

Bags of Blessings*
Extra holiday meal items for Thanksgiving and Christmas are provided to pantry clients at their monthly appointment
.

Donations of hams, turkeys, and whole chickens are needed for this program each fall and spring. Due to limited freezer space, we would greatly appreciate donations of gift cards bought from
local grocery stores. Donations are requested beginning in October and continuing through the first week of December, and then again in February for the Easter distribution.
Please check our Facebook page for a list of non perishable food items that we provide to families in their Bags Of Blessings.
 Warmth Program
We distribute blankets, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, sweaters, and some coats or jackets, as donations allow, during the fall and winter seasons.

Due to Covid, we are currently only accepting “new” items or items that are in like new condition and have been dry cleaned and still covered in the plastic the dry cleaner provided. Donations of these items are accepted during regular office hours.

Blankets or Sleeping Bags -
Due to Covid, we are currently only accepting blankets and sleeping bags that are either new or like new condition and have been dry cleaned still wrapped in the plastic that was provided by the dry cleaner. These items can be of any size or weight.
Sleeping bags will be these are appreciated for assisting homeless clients or others in extreme situations. The small rolled blankets are especially nice for children.

Blanket drives and warm gear collections are needed as donations in early fall [Sept-Nov] for our distribution to clients. Please remember to include socks when promoting a list of items to donate. Warm fleece items, such as sweat pants or tops, are often needed for homeless or other clients who deal with extreme weather concerns.
Breads and Pastries*
End-of-day donations are received several times each week from Giant, Jerry's, Nell's, Panera, Red Brick Bakery, Weis, and other local bakeries or stores. These are free to anyone. Since, we are currently do not allow anyone to enter the building because of Covid, you must call the agency directly prior to arriving so that we can bag the items that you are requesting. These items are only distributed between the hours of [9:30am-1:30pm]; the amount available is limited due to the various amounts donated.
Programs for Children
Food for School Kids Program distributes extra food to local school kids once a month. By distributing on a monthly basis, we are able to provide these children healthier food options.
Summer Food For School Kids are distributed weekly so donations are needed constantly so that we have enough inventory for distribution each week beginning June 11 and then throughout July and into August.

After the Labor Day weekend when schools are back in full, we will prepare up to 100 bags each week for the counselors to send home with at-risk children each Friday. So, the need for donations has become a year-round request. The list of items needed can be found on the home page.

School supplies are given to any student beginning after the Fourth of July until Labor Day. Most school students return in mid-to-late August, so donations are needed in June and early July for distribution purposes. Check with your school for information concerning any new backpack regulations.
Life Skills Training
We offer workshops and classes, when possible, to provide information needed for budgeting, nutrition, wellness, parenting, etc.  These classes are typically open to the public without needing to be a client.
Financial Assistance
We occasionally provide
limited help for eligible households to prevent loss of utilities, if funds allow.  Anyone requesting financial assistance must register as a client.  Termination notice with the account number and balance must be made available to the office staff for consultation with the utility company at least five (5) days prior to shut-off.

Our agency does not provide rent assistance.
