Shirley Axe,
Chair Person
As a resident of this community for the majority of my life, I feel privileged to be able to give back to the people through Community REACH. Since 1974, thousands of local volunteers and contributors have worked with Community REACH to assist individuals. It is a shared passion and a calling to care for others.
As the elected Board Chair for 2022 and with the support of the Board of Directors, I and we collectively strive to make a difference in the lives of people within the school districts of Dallastown, Eastern York and Red Lion. Our dedicated team of volunteers and staff assist with weekly and monthly food distribution, collect and distribute warm coats in the winter, and provide educational classes throughout the year.
Community REACH would not be successful without the dedicated Board of Directors.
We extend special thanks to the past Chair, Tammy Grove, for her faith and dedication to the organization and her support to those in need.
It is my hope that Community REACH can help people in need each and every day.

Tammy Grove,
Secretary
Tammy Grove was raised in southern York County. She joined the Community REACH Board of Directors in 2018 after retiring in 2017 from over 30 years serving as a teacher and school administrator in the South Eastern and Red Lion Area School Districts. Among a variety of activities since retiring from Public Education, Tammy has enjoyed providing professional development opportunities for educators and serving as a Supervisor of Student Teachers, an Adjunct Professor, and the Interim Field Services Coordinator at York College of Pennsylvania. Through the years, she has had the pleasure of belonging to several professional, religious, and community organizations, serving as an officer on many of the Boards of Directors. In every capacity, Tammy's purpose has always been to serve, to enhance the chances for success in school and in life for all students, and to empower others to be better than she found them. Several years ago, a principal of the school in which she taught instilled in his staff and students this very important message which she has embraced and has shared to this day: What we’re doing here is important. We know you can do it. We are not giving up on anyone.

Marion Bittner
Marion was first drawn to Community REACH many years ago after hearing a former Executive Director speak about the agency (called Red Lion Area Community Services at the time) and share real life stories about how the agency helped individuals and families. It wasn't until a few years later that a friend who served as a board member for the agency asked if she would be interested in serving on the board. Marion was at a point in her life that she was able to commit the time to serve. That was 17 years ago. Over the past 17 years, she has seen the agency outgrow its former location on Gotham Place. She has seen the creation of new programs and the vast growth in the numbers of people served. As a board member and member of the program committee, Marion hopes to continue to help identify the needs of the people we serve and help put programs in place to meet those needs.
